It’s hard to write a cooking blog when…

Published by Elizabeth at 8:11 pm under Personal

…you haven’t actually been cooking anything.  For the last week, I have been feeling absolutely un-motivated to cook anything, so I’ve been purchasing pre-made roasted chicken at the grocery store, heating up frozen fish sticks for the kids (I know, I know, those are barely even food, for heaven’s sakes), and talking my husband into going out to eat.

I don’t know what it is, if it’s getting used to having the boys home all day now that summer vacation has started, or if it’s just lack of inspiration, but I don’t feel like sitting down with a pile of cookbooks and cooking magazines and planning menus. I don’t feel like logging in to any of the several excellent meal planning sites either.  I just want food to magically appear in my refrigerator, and then cook itself and arrange itself on the plates at dinner time. Is that so much to ask?

I completely understand how you feel! I’ll be cooking today, though (I hope-as long as someone is hanging out with Lara) and hopefully will have something to SAY!

Not only do I want food to fix itself and magically appear on my plate, I want the dishes magically cleaned, the house magically cleaned, etc… And the bank account magically filled! LOL!!!

Cooking is like writing, when you dont feel like cooking just dont cook :). Otherwise the taste wont be superb since you dont put your heart in it.

But yes, I would love also if I can master those food preparation spells in Harry Potter :D

I don’t know about anyone else, but a premade roasted chicken sounds SOOOO good right now. Damn! Lol.

    Now I’m hungry.
