I didn’t want to moderate comments…

Right above the comment field, in LARGE, BOLD letters, is my comment policy. Which clearly states that all comments must be left with a REAL first name or they will be edited or deleted. Well apparently, the parents in this country are giving their children some very cruel names, like “Chihuahua teacup”, and “Digix” (both of which got past Akismet somehow), and “Toronto Dedicated Servers” and “Webhosting pad”, which were caught by Akismet.

PEOPLE, PEOPLE, PEOPLE. Stop DOING that. Just DON’T EVEN BOTHER if you aren’t going to treat me with the respect I deserve here. If you run your own website, then you KNOW WHAT ADVERTISING IS. If you want to buy a text link ad here, ASK ME.

So those of you who do read the site, what would you suggest? Would setting up a CAPTCHA question help at all? The comments I referred to above were actually pertinent to the post they were left on, but I can’t force people to leave their name with their comment. I want PEOPLE to comment, not websites! Would you be less inclined to leave a comment if you had to answer a spam question or something first? Regular readers, help me out here please!
