Ronzoni Pasta Review and Giveaway
REVIEW
I LOVE pasta. I could eat it every day! So I was so excited when I got an email asking me to review the new Ronzoni SmartTaste and Ronzoni Healthy Harvest pastas-someone wants to send me free pasta? Yes please! I was especially interested in trying the SmartTaste because of it’s nutritional benefits. A serving (2 ounces before cooking) of SmartTaste pasta contains 6 grams of fiber, and as much calcium as an 8 ounce glass of milk (the package gives a percentage of daily value, but 8 ounces of milk is about 300 mg. of calcium).
I received a HUGE box filled with pasta! From the SmartTaste line I received two boxes of Rotini and one box of Spaghetti, and from the Healthy Harvest line I received two boxes of Rotini and one of whole wheat blend Spaghetti. It should last us for months! I cooked up a sort of taste test, two different sauces to put on either the SmartTaste Spaghetti or the Healthy Harvest Rotini. I let the kids choose their pasta and sauce, here are two of the plates (and if it doesn’t look appetizing, blame my crappy photography):

The winner was definitely the SmartTaste Spaghetti. We couldn’t taste any difference at all between it and regular pasta. The Healthy Harvest was good, and surprisingly, my boys loved it! I thought it tasted slightly gritty, but they didn’t notice it. We all agreed that we will replace our regular pasta with SmartTaste from now on, and that we will try another recipe using the Healthy Harvest again soon.

Ronzoni is some of the best stuff we’ve had. Even my picky husband liked it (didn’t let him see the box before I served it, though!). I’d love a chance to win a box; I also subscribed via email.

I have a box of the macaroni in my cupboard waiting to be tried – I bought it when I couldn’t find any Barilla Plus elbows, but have been hesitant to try it in case my kids hate it. We love pasta and we eat it – usually as a side – almost every day. I used to buy Ronzoni pastas, but for the past few years I purchased Barilla pastas. Recently, I purchased some boxes of Ronzoni angel hair, spaghetti, and penne. What a good move! Ronzoni, in my opinion, is superior to Barilla in taste and texture.
