LOLCooking: Fryin A Tortilla

Posted on May 20, 2008 by Elizabeth

Introducing LOLCooking here on MomCooks! Instead of getting upset when I make a mistake in the kitchen, I’ve decided to embrace my imperfectness, photograph my boo-boos, and post them here for everyone to see. With an appropriate caption, of course. I’d like to thank I Can Has Cheezburger? for the inspiration.

All I wanted to do was crisp up a flour tortilla so I could make the just-like-Taco-Bell Mexican Pizza from the Fast Food Fix cookbook. I guess the oil was too hot though because the first one hit the pan and immediately turned into Mrs. Puff from Spongebob. I made my whole family come into the kitchen and look, and then I took a photo!

Your mission is to keep your camera handy when you are cooking and snap some photos of your kitchen mistakes. The funnier, the better. Then, email them to me at elizabethcooks (at) gmail (dot) com so I can use them in a future LOLCooking post. If you send me the caption you want to use, I can put it on the photo for you. Who knows, we might just start the next big thing!

Matthew-That’s interesting that you should ask that-we didn’t eat that one, but I did fry a few extra tortillas and we did sprinkle cinnamon sugar on them. So tasty!

    hey
i work in a kitchen in a restaurant
and i have created their nacho shells using tortilla breads,
and i think it should work for you too
if you wanna fry the tortilla bread make sure you put a “pan” almost the size of you tortilla bread on top of it, and then after its done, turn off the stove and then let it cool for about 5-10 minutes while in there, then take it out ! see if this works !
    and let me know !
and by the way im starting a “pedy’s cook book” blog tonight at http://www.collegeboy.ca/food
and i will be posting my creations lol
    have fun
