Four Foods on Friday-Popcorn and Movies
By Elizabeth | June 6, 2008
This week’s questions from Val at Fun, Crafts and Recipes all have to do with the movies. Which makes me really want to GO to the movies! Here are my answers, you can see more by visiting Val’s Four Foods on Friday #32 post.
#1. What snacks do you eat at the movies? Do you buy them there or bring your own?
#2. What’s your favorite food movie, or movie that shows a lot of food?
#3. What food or meal do you wish was available at the movies and why?
#4. What’s your most favorite way to make popcorn? Hot, cold, buttered, air, microwave, chocolate, caramel, you get it.
#1. I eat popcorn at the movies along with a fountain Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi if that’s all they have. I buy them both there. We also take snack-size Ziploc bags and a handful of quarters for the candy machines, and I buy 50 cents’ worth of Peanut M&Ms, which is about 11 of them and just right.
#2. My second favorite movie of all time is “When Harry Met Sally”. I love how Sally orders her food so carefully! “Chef salad, dressing on the side, apple pie a la mode with ice cream, but only put the ice cream on top if the pie is hot, otherwise ice cream on the side and whipped cream on the pie, and I’d like the ice cream to be strawberry, and if not strawberry, then no ice cream and the pie hot”. HA!
#3. On a really hot day, a waffle cone of Baskin Robbins’ Rocky Road ice cream would be nice :)
#4. I buy microwave popcorn, whatever’s on sale. I buy butter flavor for the boys and the 94% fat free kind for me.
Okay, now I want popcorn SO BADLY! thanks, Val :P

Me too, although I often feel kind of sick later on from all that grease and popcorn fiber :)

DeeBee-That’s because I watch that movie all the time! My favorite movie is “You’ve Got Mail”, but “When Harry Met Sally” is a close second!

You know, I do not like popcorn much, but when I do, it has to be loaded with that cheddar powder. It wasn’t until recently that I started to see it in the store, but this post makes me want some! I am going to the store here in a bit, so the popcorn suppliers can thank you, because it’s now on my list!

You can buy candy with quarters? Ours if like $4 for a box or bar that you can buy at Walmart for $1. That’s why I won’t buy it at the theater.
Thanks for playing FFOF!

I’ve been going to movies and eating too much caramel popcorn lately. I love Rocky Road, that would be something different for a change.

Movie popcorn is wonderful, I just wish I didn’t have to pay $5 to get some. I particularly like the new trend of letting you put your own butter on top.
