Viral Video Prize Giveaway from Half Of Me

Published by Elizabeth at 10:50 pm under Personal, Weight Watchers

The blogger in this video calls herself PastaQueen. Doesn’t she look amazing? She’s going to be at BlogHer signing her book “Half Assed: A Weight-Loss Memoir”, which is also included in the Half Assed Prize Pack she’s giving away. The Prize Pack includes:

* A $25 gift certificate to Amazon.com
* A signed copy of Half-Assed: A Weight-Loss Memoir
* A signed galley copy. (Galleys are early uncorrected proofs that are sent to reviewers.)
* A Burt’s Bee’s gift basket
* My favorite kitchen gadget, the apple corer and slicer
* A Spaghetti Scepter from the PastaQueen

Considering the shock I had today when I stepped on the bathroom scale, you’ll be seeing and reading a lot more about weight loss on this blog in the year to come.

That’s right, I said YEAR. I’m thinking 52 weeks, 52 pounds. Because seriously people, I’ve had enough of this foolishness. I think when a Body Mass Index calculator tells me that I’m SERIOUSLY OBSESE at five feet tall and 1xx pounds, it’s time to pay attention.

Which is why I went looking for Half of Me in the first place, and why I’m looking forward to meeting Jennette at BlogHer. I need all the support I can get.

    So cool! I’m getting married in 4 months and I’m starting to feel like the fattest person alive. I need to lose a few pounds, of course, but right now it’s just too much stress on top of everything. I’ll turn my eye on weight loss again next year…I’m sure.

  4. Well, the girl in the video had a commitment to slim down – that’s why she took her pictures periodically.

    I can also create a similar video using pictures of some people who never did any dieting or exercise and who are very fat now. Just start with their latest pictures and go back in time. And people would think they really slimmed down!

  5. Yeah! she looks so amazing. Glad that I am skinny.

  6. You can definitely do it!

    Back in January — I stepped on the scale for the first time in months.. I was shocked — I had NO idea I weighed as much as I did. Right then and there I decided to change it.

    And I did.. I lost 40 pounds and have kept it off!

    Good luck! : D

    It is always a struggle to get the weight off and then it takes a conscious effort to keep it off.

    Being over weight is an emotionally draining and physically draining situation to be in and many times your struggle is reduced to ridicule and insensitivity.

    The exhilaration you feel when you look back 5 months before you made a conscious effort and see positive results is truly gratifying and often creates wide smiles and happy tears.

    Losing weight can be accomplish but motivation must come from the inside to change the outside.

    You can and will do it, just never give up hope.

    Only give up the pounds and the inches.
