Peanut Butter. Most kids love it. Many will take a peanut butter and jelly sandwich to school every single day from kindergarten until college if they can. But we Moms and Dads get tired of making the same old sandwich every day! Here’s some ideas for putting a twist on the traditional PB&J.
Breads: Instead of just white or wheat sandwich bread, try spreading peanut butter and jelly on these-bagels, raisin bread, cinnamon swirl bread, rolled up in four tortillas, regular or lightly toasted english muffins, rice cakes, or between two graham cracker squares.
Peanut butter alternatives: Your grocery store or health food store has other kinds of nut butters that are spreadable, so try almond or cashew butter, or soy nut butter instead of the peanut variety.
Jelly and Jams: Grape and Strawberry are the traditional sandwich flavors, but try raspberry, cherry, or mixed fruit jams too. Apple butter is also delicious and comes in jars near the jelly.
Mix-Ins: Put two tablespoons of peanut butter in a bowl, then stir in a little honey, orange juice, raisins, granola, chopped bananas, or chopped dried apples. These are good with jelly or without!
Here’s a recipe that my kids like once in a while instead of PB&J-
Ingredients:
Four Graham Cracker squares (a full sheet broken in half is two squares)
1/4 cup smooth or chunky peanut butter
2 tablespoons orange juice
1/4 cup raisins
Directions:
Combine the peanut butter and orange juice in a small bowl and stir well until blended. Stir in raisins. Divide the mixture evenly between two graham cracker squares, then top each with another square. My boys can each eat two of these graham cracker sandwiches, so I double the recipe. I like eating this too!

God. It looks delicious!!! I´ll try…simple and good!!!
My kids like:
Whole wheat tortilla
Mix peanut butter and mashed banana together
top with chopped apples, raisins and honey
Roll up and put in frige overnight (to set it all, but I make sandwiches the night before anyway)
That’s actually the only way Josh will eat peanut butter. They also like just plain Jelly sandwiches. That’s what Josh has had every day for 2 weeks.

Mimi-that does sound good! I’ll try it!
Lucas is one of those kids that will take PBJ and every day and be totally happy with it. He’ll switch to chicken salad or tuna salad for awhile but he loves his peanut butter!
He likes it when I make him PBJ and pinwheels, roll out the bread with a rolling pin, spread pbj and roll it up like a jelly roll, then slice. He also likes pb & honey or pb & banana sandwiches.
