My new favorite potato side dish is McCain Sweet Potato Fries. I had seen recipes for making them homemade but I always hesitated, unsure of whether I would like the taste or not. Then at BlogHer this past summer, McCain’s was a sponsor of one of our afternoon snack breaks, and they set up pans of fresh-baked Smile Fries and Sweet Potato Fries. I took a plateful to munch on, and fell in LOVE.
One serving of McCain Sweet Potato Fries provides the daily recommended value of Vitamin A, and is a good source of fiber and vitamin C. When oven baked (which is how I prepare them), McCain Sweet Potato fries have 0g trans fat and are low in sodium (just 200 mg per serving). I bake them on a cookie sheet until they are just turning brown on the outside, and dip them in a bit of ketchup, and they are delicious for a side dish at dinner or sometimes I even make them just for a snack. They are so good!
Have you had Sweet Potato Fries? Do you buy them frozen or make them homemade? Will your kids eat them? (mine won’t, they just don’t know what’s good I tell you). Leave a comment!

I never tried sweet potato fries before..
I like sweet potatoes just about anyway they’re prepared, but I avoid the candied or overly-sweetened dishes in favor of simpler – nothing’s better than a baked sweet spud with a heavy sprinkle of cinnamon, a pinch of brown sugar, and a generous dollop of butter.
Can’t recall the brand, but I buy frozen sweet potato fries at our local grocery store and our toddler loves to gobble ‘em up! Ours don’t have the fancy crinkle cut, though… ;)
I’ll have to look for those! I have made them myself at times (great for dipping into garlic dip), but what a great snack to have in the freezer, at least somewhat healthier than regular french fries!

I’ve never tried this sweet potato fries before, but now I have to look for them.
They’re wonderful for cholesterol conscious people like me! No TransFat and only 0.5 Saturated Fat.
They taste great too!
