Menu-Jan. 20-25

I missed Menu Monday yesterday, oops!  I’m only planning through Saturday of this week because I’ll be gone at a conference next week (just WAIT until I tell you where I’m going!) and I want my husband to help plan the meals since he will be cooking them.I’m also using my Taste of Home magazines to plan this week’s menus; one of my New Year’s resolutions is to actually start cooking the recipes instead of just dog-earing the pages!  In fact, I’ll link to the recipes on the Taste of Home website, which you’d think would mean I could just get rid of the magazines altogether. But I’m a visual learner, if I can’t see something right in front of me, I forget about it. So I need the magazines too :)

Tuesday:  Tasty Onion Chicken, Spicy Garlic Green Beans, and Sour Cream Pan Biscuits, from Taste of Home Quick Cooking Jan/Feb 2006

Wednesday: Salisbury Steak with Gravy (Taste of Home Simple & Delicious, March/April 2006), Mashed Potatoes, green beans

Thursday: Spaghetti with Tangy Meat Sauce (Taste of Home Simple & Delicious, March/April 2006), Garlic Bread, Tossed Salad with Copycat Olive Garden salad dressing

Friday: Takeout Pizza Night

Saturday Lunch:  Hot dogs, baked beans, sliced apples

Saturday dinner: Not sure, might be going out

  • I really need to get in the habit of planning meals weekly…my hubby works goofy hours so I never know if he’ll be home for dinner or not – and usually when I’m by myself with the kids I just want something quick and easy I can throw together in the microwave :)

  • I slipped up on my plans the other day. I just didn’t feel like cooking. So we got a bucket of chicken & sides from KFC. YUM! Too bad I can’t afford to do that every night!

  • I love cooking but I never make a plan of cook anything whatever I or my family members prefer to eat. As the idea comes in my mind to cook something I just go for that immediately.

  • Mmmm…I’d love to eat at your house on Thursday.

i’m a sucker for those Taste of Home little booklets at the check-out stand. Casseroles, Crock-pot dinners, desserts etc. And they’re awesome – with tear out pages etc. I’m sure you’ve seen them. Many awesome dinners from those little suckers, I assure you! I LOVE Taste of Home.
