Here are this week’s four questions from Val at Fun, Crafts and Recipes:
#1. Coffee. Do you use ground, bean or pods?
Right now I’m using ground coffee that I order from Boca Java. I have a Tassimo, but I ran out of pods for it. I also have a coffee grinder that my husband bought me for my birthday, so I could be grinding my own beans. I have lots of coffee options in my kitchen!
#2. Coffee filters. Do you use paper, gold or other?
I use regular paper filters.
#3. Tea. Do you prefer tea bags, loose tea or something else?
I don’t drink tea.
#4. Share a recipe for something you like to eat with coffee or tea.
My favorite thing to eat with coffee is a big blueberry muffin, here’s a recipe from the Barefoot Contessa, I copied the recipe from the page on Food Network.
Blueberry Coffee Cake Muffins, Makes 16-18
Ingredients
* 12 tablespoons (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
* 1 1/2 cups sugar
* 3 extra-large eggs, at room temperature
* 1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
* 8 ounces (about 1 cup) sour cream
* 1/4 cup milk
* 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
* 2 teaspoons baking powder
* 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
* 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
* 2 half-pints fresh blueberries, picked through for stems (or 2 cups frozen)
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Place 16 paper liners in muffin pans.
In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. With the mixer on low speed, add the eggs 1 at a time, then add the vanilla, sour cream, and milk. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. With the mixer on low speed add the flour mixture to the batter and beat until just mixed. Fold in the blueberries with a spatula and be sure the batter is completely mixed.
Scoop the batter into the prepared muffin pans, filling each cup just over the top, and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the muffins are lightly browned on top and a cake tester comes out clean.

Ha! I got my recipe from Barefoot Contessa too. She has simple but good recipes. I am not eating that stuff though! I have to lose weight. I walked this morning. Yay me!
That recipe sounds awesome! I noticed Karen’s comment above. I’m going to have to check out Barefoot Contessa’s recipes. I agree, though, it’s not good for losing weight or for people watching their cholesterol.
I like cakes . I have come across this blog passionateaboutbaking.blogspot.com which is a great place for these recipes on good cakes

I love my coffee and cake in the afternoon! It’s a German habit I’ve been unable to lose. ;-)
I think one treat a day is okay, as long as I stay active.
I don’t grind my own coffee, because my coffee grinder produces so much static, it drives me crazy.
Anyone else have this problem and maybe a solution to it? Thanks!
Karen- you and me both. It’s time for me to buckle down and do what’s hard (i.e. diet and exercise) instead of doing what’s easy and wondering why nothing is changing!
Charla- No, Barefoot Contessa recipes are definitely NOT diet food!
Nursery Decoration- hi, thanks for leaving a comment! Next time, please use a real first name. If you want to sell text links to get your keywords up in the search engine rankings, email me for my rates!
And no, I’ve never had a coffee grinder produce static. I’d call the manufacturer.
goacom- thanks for the comment and for the url for the cake site, I’ll check it out!
I love blueberry muffins, but I’m one of those muffin wasters that only eats the tops. :-)

Ohhh, I love Barefoot Contessa. Ina Garten is my food goddess. Thanks for sharing this recipe. I think I was able to catch this episode on her show but wasn’t able to take down notes.
Thanks for the recipe! Gonna do it right now :)
Cheers

The Food Network has way too many great recipes, I am packing on the pounds because of them. Not working out enough probably has something to do with it.
