Four Foods on Friday 79
Here are this week’s questions from Val at Fun, Crafts and Recipes:
#1. Kelly’s question. What is your favorite memory associated with the smell of a certain food? As in, you smell it, close your eyes and are instantly drawn back to a magical moment in time….
I associate foods themselves with memories, not the smell. For example, I always get fried clams at Red Lobster because when I was a kid, we would eat at Howard Johnson’s and I always had fried clams there.
#2. Name something red that is in your cabinets.
Tomato sauce, tomato paste, diced tomatoes
#3. Ice. Do you have an ice maker, use ice cube trays or buy by the bag?
We use ice cube trays most of the year, in the summer we buy ice by the bag. But, soon I’ll be getting a new fridge with a built-in ice cube maker and I can’t wait!
#4. Pepper. What kind do you use most often? Is it in a grinder or a shaker?
We use ground pepper in a shaker at the table, and I keep a grinder with my spices.
Play along in the comments!

I am the same way. I associated food smells with memories. For example. I like the way my grandmothers house always smell like cinamon. I have a lot of good memories with my grandmother, so anytime i smell that I get a happy feeling! That just goes to show food is more than for a taste!
I associate the foods themselves more with memories than the smells, too. I guess the main smell would be cookies baking in the oven.
