I’m only planning half a week of meals this week because I’m going out of town on Friday and my husband likes to hit the grocery store and make up his own meal plan when I’m not home. We’re also on a tight budget again this week, so I’ll be swinging by Aldi later [...]

We woke up this morning to an inch of snow here in mid-Michigan, which really isn’t a surprise. It’s been known to snow in June! Nevertheless, it put a chill in the air that made me reconsider my weekly menu. I want warm and comforting meals this week!
We’re on a super-tight budget, so [...]
Elizabeth posted this in Menu Monday on January 31st, 2011 I have a really bad cold and both Ryan and Kaitlyn are sick too, so I’m really not even in the mood to cook. But, there’s a winter storm coming or so they say, that could dump up to a foot of snow on us by Wednesday. Which means I have to drag my sick [...]
Elizabeth posted this in Menu Monday on March 30th, 2010 Yesterday was a weird day and I didn’t get anything on my schedule done. Chris took the kids out to eat and I had a DiGiorno 200 calorie pizza which was disgusting. Sigh. I wish I had someone who would do my grocery shopping for me! Here’s what I have planned for this week.

Elizabeth posted this in Menu Monday on March 7th, 2010 I’ve been feeling really blah about meal planning lately, I don’t know why. I’m making it super easy on myself this week and using recipes from Kraft, visit www.kraftrecipes.com to find thousands of them. I’m a fan of the “Budgetwise” category. Here’s the recipes I’m planning to make this week:
Easy Shepherd’s Pie, Crescent Rolls

My cupboards and refrigerator are bare, so I need to stock up on pretty much everything this week! I’m headed to Aldi so I can get a lot of food without spending a fortune ( I love you, Aldi!). I’m basing this week’s menu on foods I know Aldi has in stock. Also, my [...]
How was everyone’s Thanksgiving? We had a slight mishap with our turkey – it sort of cooked way too long and dried out – but I discovered that turkey breast meat steamed in a covered container with a little water in the microwave tastes just fine covered with turkey gravy :) Even after having leftovers [...]

Holidays often mean more stress for Moms, but it doesn’t have to be that way. The key to headache-free holidays is making a plan for everything you need to do, and making each task as simple as possible. The last thing you want to do while you are planning your holidays is worry about [...]
